Deckled edges, careful asymmetry, and a wealth of textures brought a handmade feel to our new website for the Island of Bonaire.

Touts about the uniqueness of Bonaire’s environment within the rebrand campaign necessitated a website as unique. One that could house their tourism marketing and highlight their preservationist principles, while exuding a breezy, organic impression. We delivered just that, packing the site with an eclectic collage of campaign photography, framed in swashes of brand color and faux-polaroid borders alike, all while keeping the architecture modular for ease of use and customization.

The underlying modular system, along with careful rule-writing, made it easy to achieve harmony between screens large and small. We cropped patterns, anchored our campaign tag, and grouped photography, so as to ensure the mobile site felt as spontaneous and idiosyncratic as the desktop one.

Where clarity was important, we toned down the decoration, resulting in straightforward menus and easy to use search filters. We chose typefaces that featured deep glyphsets to support a range of global languages and kept the design ADA compliant through thoughtful type-sizing and use of color.
